Visualization Features
Motion Blur
With the new Motion Blur feature in Depence R4, videos can now be rendered with stunningly realistic motion blur. Just like with real cameras, the effect is based on the relationship between frame rate and shutter angle. This ensures dynamic and natural representation of fast movements—perfect for professional animations and simulations.
Beam Reflections
Depence R4 takes light simulation to the next level with Beam Reflections. Spotlights can now reflect off mirrors with one bounce, while lasers can achieve up to 8 bounces. This feature opens up exciting new possibilities for lighting and laser show designers to experiment with innovative design ideas and create highly dynamic visual effects.
Drone-Show Simulation
Drone shows are becoming increasingly popular, serving as a stunning addition to any multimedia production. With Depence R4, you can now simulate swarms of thousands of drones, seamlessly animated over the timeline. Our proprietary drone show file format, already adopted by leading manufacturers, ensures precision and smooth integration. Camera Videos Sources (IMAG)
Depence R4 introduces the ability to use 3D cameras within your scene as virtual video sources. These cameras render their perspectives in real-time, providing video feeds that can be displayed on screens within your simulation. A camera selector allows seamless switching between multiple cameras, enabling dynamic and versatile content projection for your multimedia designs.
Confetti Effects
Depence R4 introduces realistic confetti particle simulations, allowing you to create vibrant effects in various colors or a fully multi-colored mix. Perfect for adding dynamic and festive elements to concerts, events, and multimedia shows, this feature enhances realism and brings celebrations to life with stunning visual detail. The versatile particle emitter settings enable a wide range of effects, from powerful confetti blasters to continuous blowers, ensuring maximum creative flexibility.
Plot & Documentation
Paperwork
Beyond its powerful visualization and control capabilities, Depence now enables the creation of detailed lighting plots. Fixture symbols are displayed with DMX, circuit, ID, and other essential information for clear and professional documentation. Multi-page Page Collections can be exported as a single, structured PDF with just one click, streamlining the paperwork process for show planning.
Plot View Rendering
The new Plot View render mode allows rendering the scene in a hidden-line style, where only outlines are drawn. Fixtures can be displayed in their respective layer colors. Using ambient occlusion, the scene can be represented in an even more stylish and high-quality schematic way.
Plot Collections
Depence R4 introduces the Page Collection, allowing you to organize all your plot documents into a structured set. With this feature, you can seamlessly compile a complete presentation package—including introduction pages, plans, and high-quality renderings—into a multi-page PDF. With just one click, you can generate a professional, ready-to-share document, streamlining your workflow and enhancing project communication.
Measure Tool
The new Measure Tool allows you to add accurate dimensions directly within your scene. Whether for technical documentation, stage planning, or design validation, this tool ensures precise measurements, enhancing clarity and accuracy in your projects.
Symbols
Fixture symbols are now automatically drawn based on view and perspective, displaying essential labels such as DMX address, Fixture ID, Channel, and Focus. Labels can be colorized according to layer settings, and Symbol Definitions allow full customization of which information is visible, ensuring clarity and flexibility in your designs.
More Features
The new Lux-Meter Tool enables precise brightness measurement in Lux, displayed as a heatmap. This feature helps designers optimize lighting setups for perfect illumination, ensuring accurate and realistic light distribution in their projects.
The CAD editor now features Snapping, allowing for precise alignment and positioning of objects. This improves workflow efficiency and ensures accurate designs with ease.
Depence R4 now supports HDR Image export in EXR and HDR formats, enabling stunning high dynamic range visuals. Perfect for display on HDR monitors, mobile devices (like iPhones), or sharing on platforms like Instagram.
The new Target Camera automatically aligns and focuses on a selected object, making keyframe animations easier and more intuitive than ever.
The new Layer Filter allows you to define layer visibility settings and assign them to different PlotViews. This makes it easy to manage complex scenes and tailor views for specific presentations.
With the Active Layer option, only objects from the active layer are displayed in the hierarchy. This simplifies working on large projects by keeping the scene structure clear and manageable.
Depence R4 now supports DMX input via CITP, enabling direct reception of DMX data from consoles like the Hog 4.
The cubic keyframe interpolation has been enhanced, making camera movements smoother and more natural than ever. This improvement ensures seamless and professional-looking camera animations for dynamic scene presentations.
The new I/O Info-Dialog provides an instant overview of all active inputs and outputs, allowing you to monitor network activity at a glance for improved control and troubleshooting.
Depence R4 now allows you to mark Fixtures, Materials, and Models as favorites, making it easier to organize and quickly access your most-used assets with a simple filter.
The new Splash Analysis feature makes particle ground collisions visible on a heatmap, allowing for precise evaluation of effects. This helps designers ensure that, for example, water in a show stays within a designated pool, preventing unwanted splashes.
It utilizes Splash Analysis data to automatically generate wet surfaces where particles collide. These surfaces dynamically dry over time, adding an extra layer of realism to water effects in your simulations.
We’ve enhanced ACEScg processing to ensure more precise color representation. This improvement eliminates unwanted violet shifts in blue tones, resulting in more accurate and realistic color rendering
The rendering of fixture lenses has been improved to minimize aliasing artifacts, especially when fog is disabled, ensuring a cleaner and more realistic visual representation.
Depence now fully supports the Imperial system, allowing unit selection per project with adjustable precision. This ensures accurate measurements and seamless integration for international workflows.

Depence R4 now supports audio playback while recording DMX streams in the timeline. This ensures perfect synchronization between lighting, effects, and sound for a seamless programming experience.
Depence R4 now includes an E-Mail Node within Logic I/O, allowing automated messages to be sent. This is perfect for alerting critical sensor states or triggering notifications based on system events.
The new Show Organizer is a standalone tool that allows end users to directly manage show schedules for the V:Server & V:Nano. This provides a simple and efficient way to adjust daily show timings without needing direct access to Depence.
The Live Panel has been improved with new interactive elements, including the Current Show label, the ability to set variables via buttons, and support for custom images on buttons. These enhancements provide greater flexibility and customization for live control.
You can now add group panels with labels in Logic I/O, allowing multiple nodes to be grouped together for better clarity and a more structured workflow.
